Supporting Women Entrepreneurship Through Legal Education: Katarina Majstorović Held a Lecture at the Academy of Innovative Entrepreneurship V

On May 12, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel in Novi Sad, Katarina Majstorović, Managing Partner of Majstorović & Partners law firm, delivered a lecture as part of the “Academy of Innovative Entrepreneurship V” program, organized by Kolping Društvo Srbije, an initiative dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs and women preparing to launch their own businesses.
The Academy, organized within the broader framework of programs aimed at economic empowerment and entrepreneurial education, gathered participants from different industries and professional backgrounds with the goal of strengthening practical knowledge, encouraging networking, and providing access to professional support in areas essential for sustainable business development.
During the lecture, particular attention was devoted to the legal aspects of entrepreneurship and the importance of establishing a stable legal foundation from the very beginning of a business venture. The session addressed practical legal and regulatory issues that entrepreneurs commonly encounter throughout different stages of business growth, from company formation and operational structuring to contractual relationships, compliance obligations, and risk management.

Participants were introduced to the key considerations entrepreneurs should take into account when selecting the appropriate legal form for their business activities, as well as the practical implications of different organizational models. The lecture also covered the importance of properly drafted agreements with clients, partners, suppliers, and employees, emphasizing that clear legal documentation is often one of the most important safeguards for long-term business stability and growth.
In addition to general corporate and commercial matters, the discussion included topics related to intellectual property protection and the legal protection of innovative ideas, brands, and business models. Particular emphasis was placed on the growing relevance of innovation-driven entrepreneurship and the necessity for businesses to align their operations with evolving regulatory and compliance standards. Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about certain tax incentives and legal mechanisms available to innovative businesses and companies involved in research and development activities.
Beyond the technical legal framework, the lecture encouraged an open discussion about the broader challenges women entrepreneurs continue to face in the business environment, including access to resources, balancing operational and strategic responsibilities, and navigating growth while maintaining long-term sustainability. Through practical examples and an interactive exchange with attendees, the session aimed to demonstrate how legal planning can serve not only as a protective mechanism, but also as a strategic tool for business development.

The “Academy of Innovative Entrepreneurship” has become an important platform for connecting women entrepreneurs, professionals, and institutions committed to strengthening entrepreneurship and economic inclusion. By combining education, mentorship, and networking opportunities, the program contributes to creating a more supportive ecosystem for women-led businesses in Serbia.
Majstorović & Partners law firm is proud to have supported this initiative and to contribute, through professional expertise and educational engagement, to programs that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable business development. We believe that access to practical legal knowledge plays a significant role in empowering entrepreneurs to make informed decisions, reduce business risks, and build resilient and successful companies.
