Majstorović & Partners – 74 Years of Trust, Expertise, and Continuity

On 18 June 2026, we mark the 74th anniversary of the founding of the Majstorović Law Office, the predecessor of today’s Majstorović & Partners. This anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the history that has shaped our identity, the people who built our reputation, and the values that have guided us across generations.

The foundations of this tradition were laid by attorney Branislav Majstorović, who established the Majstorović Law Office in Ruma on 18 June 1952. With its establishment, a tradition of organised legal practice began that continues to this day. The “M” monogram from the family’s coat of arms, used from the very beginning, has remained part of the firm’s identity and stands as a symbol of continuity connecting every generation of lawyers in the Majstorović family.

More than a century later, on June 18, 1952, attorney Branislav Majstorović founded Majstorović Law Office in Ruma. This marked the beginning of a tradition of organized legal practice that continues to this day. The “M” monogram from the family coat of arms, used even then, has remained part of the firm’s identity and a symbol of continuity that we associate with every generation of legal professionals in the Majstorović family.

Over the following decades, the firm grew alongside its clients, adapting to changes in the legal and business environment while remaining committed to the fundamental principles of professionalism, integrity, and responsibility.

A particularly significant place in the firm’s history belongs to Živan B. Majstorović. As Vice President of the Bar Association of Vojvodina from 1994 to 2001, he actively contributed to the development of the legal profession and the practice of law. In 1997, he represented the domestic legal profession at the European Conference of Presidents of Bar Associations and Law Societies in Vienna, participating in professional discussions on the harmonization of European legislation and the future of national legal systems.

His international experience was further confirmed in 2001 when he was appointed Legal Adviser for Civil and Criminal Law Matters relating to the implementation of the Final Arbitral Award for the Brčko District within the Office of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR). During his career, he advised domestic and international investors, financial institutions, business entities, and development projects, particularly in the fields of real estate, investments, and complex legal analysis.

A new chapter in the firm’s development began in 2010. That year, the firm adopted its current name – Majstorović & Partners, underwent a strategic rebranding, and relocated its headquarters to Dunavska Street in Novi Sad. At the same time, partners Branislav Ž. Majstorović and Katarina Majstorović decided to focus the firm’s practice on corporate and commercial law, responding to the needs of the modern business environment and the growing number of domestic and international companies operating in Serbia and the region.

Today, Branislav Ž. Majstorović leads the firm’s development in the areas of corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, information technology, personal data protection, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. As a third-generation lawyer, he continues a family tradition spanning more than two centuries, combining experience accumulated through generations with the contemporary demands of business, the digital economy, and technological development.

Katarina Majstorović has developed a strong practice in dispute resolution, arbitration, regulatory matters, compliance, and employment law. Her experience also encompasses business and human rights, corporate responsibility, and the regulatory challenges faced by domestic and international companies. Her work is distinguished by a combination of legal precision, a pragmatic approach, and a deep understanding of complex business relationships.

Today, Majstorović & Partners is a modern business law firm providing legal support to domestic companies, international investors, and global business systems. Our work encompasses complex projects in the areas of corporate law, M&A transactions, intellectual property, information technology, data protection, healthcare, commercial law, regulatory matters, and dispute resolution.

Although we are proudly rooted in Vojvodina and operate from Novi Sad, our activities have long extended beyond national borders. Through cooperation with associated law firms in Belgrade and throughout Serbia, we provide efficient legal support on a nationwide level. At the same time, membership in the Nextlaw Referral Network, a global network developed by Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, enables us to provide clients with access to trusted legal advisers in key jurisdictions worldwide. In this way, we combine local expertise with international reach through a single point of coordination for cross-border projects and investments.

Over the years, laws, markets, technologies, and business models have changed. What has remained unchanged are the values upon which the firm was founded – ethics, expertise, continuous professional development, professional excellence, and dedication to clients. These values define our identity and form the foundation upon which we build our future.

On this important anniversary, we express our gratitude to all clients, colleagues, associates, and friends of the firm who have been part of our story over the past 74 years. Their trust and support have enabled us to grow, evolve, and look to new challenges and opportunities with optimism.

We proudly preserve a legacy spanning more than two centuries and continue to build a firm that combines tradition and innovation, local knowledge and international perspective, experience and new ideas.
